
Environmental Compliance Audit
Are performed onboard vessels by our trained & experienced auditors in order to ensure compliance with Company’s Environmental Procedures as well as National & International Environmental Requirements and Legislation. The audit process includes a series of checks involving documentation (e.g Oil Record Book, Logbooks, SMS Forms, etc), correct use and operational status of equipment (e.g Oil Water Separator), crew awareness and competence, processes and operations (e.g pollution hazards identified, storage of garbage, ballast operation.
• A survey of the equipment provided on board for the processing and disposal of machinery space bilges, including relevant certification.
• A review of the International Oil Pollution Prevention Certificate, including the required Form A / Form B of the vessel.
• The operation and maintenance of the equipment provided on board for the processing and disposal of machinery space bilges and generated sludge.
• A review of the official records maintained for the disposal of processed bilge water and sludge contained within the Oil Record Book, Part 1: Machinery Spaces.
• A review of the official records maintained for the disposal of residues contained within the Oil Record Book, Part 2: Cargo (Tankers only).
• A review of the environmental-related records as required by SMS, MARPOL and other relevant regulations. Etc.
Purpose
The purpose of this review is to evaluate the documentation, equipment, and procedures in relation to the current requirements of the Company Safety and Environmental Management System and MARPOL 73/78, as amended.Scope
